Stephen heads up our Commercial Litigation group, which has 4 lawyers.
He has qualifications and extensive experience in the following areas:
- Commercial Litigation, including contractual, corporate, property, leasing, intellectual property, franchising, trade practices, defamation, mortgage, administrative law, negligence and professional negligence actions, and insurance matters;
- Insolvency; and
- Maritime.
Stephen's qualifications include a Masters of Law degree and Queensland Law Society specialist Commercial Litigation accreditation.
His insolvency experience covers both personal and corporate insolvency, and includes debt and mortgage recovery.
As regards his corporate insolvency work, he has acted for all manner of stakeholders across many external administrations, including voluntary administrations, receiverships, liquidations and provisional liquidations. Those stakeholders have included insolvency practitioners, directors, creditors and shareholders.
He also has a strong interest in turnaround management, as well as statutory demand law and procedure, insolvent trading claims, oppression matters, voidable transaction matters, regulatory issues and retention of title issues.
Stephen also has experience in Building & Construction disputes.
He is a member of the AICD, and a number of industry based organizations, including the Insolvency Practitioners Association, the Australian Insurance Law Association and the Maritime Law Association of Australia and NZ. |
